This work of art is good enough to eat! Except for the fact, it’s not actually edible…
Joël Penkman, an artist based in the United Kingdom, combined her love for food and art into these epic masterpieces.
Her paintings all involve a bit of a process, says Penkman.
“Each painting starts with an idea of what I’d like to paint,” she says. “Sometimes this involves making and baking my subject first.”
These incredible paintings are created in “egg tempera,” which although it sounds like food is actually an older painting method using oil paints to achieve vivid colors and a satin finish.
